Dr. Patrice Burgess reviews medical content for Healthwise, a
nonprofit organization with a mission to help people make better health
decisions. Dr. Burgess is a family practice physician on the faculty at the
Family Practice Residency of Idaho. An accomplished instructor, Dr. Burgess
received the Faculty Teacher of the Year Award for 1998–1999 and the Society of
Teachers of Family Medicine Award in 1993.
Dr. Burgess is the Medical Director of Physician Relations at Saint
Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. In that capacity, since
March of 2005, she sits on the Senior Leadership Team of the hospital,
supervises the Office of Medical Affairs, assists the medical staff officers
and committees, and serves as an overall liaison for physician issues.
