If you’ve recently enrolled in a Coventry Medicare Advantage plan or Coventry Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, you may have questions about what happens next and where to go to find information about your coverage. Here are some useful tips to help you get started.
How do I find a primary care provider for my Coventry Medicare Advantage plan?
Some Coventry Medicare Advantage plans require you to choose a primary care provider (PCP) to oversee your health care. If you are enrolled in one of these plans — usually Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans — you can use this to find a doctor in your area. You have the option to change your PCP at any time after you have enrolled.
Where can I find a pharmacy that accepts my Coventry Medicare plan with prescription drug coverage?
Coventry contracts with a network of pharmacy providers; you can use this to find a pharmacy that participates in the network for your Coventry Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan. In some cases, you may be eligible for Coventry’s Express Scripts mail-order service, which lets you fill your prescriptions and have them delivered to your home. Look for the letters “MO” next to your medication to see if your prescription drug qualifies. If you are traveling out of the area, you can use the tool to find network pharmacies near you.
Please note that some Coventry Medicare plans with prescription drug coverage offer additional savings if you use preferred pharmacy providers (versus network providers). If your plan includes this benefit, your out-of-pocket costs (for example, copayments, and coinsurance) may be lower if you choose a preferred pharmacy provider over a network provider. There are over 60,000 Coventry network pharmacists; of those, around 30,000 are preferred providers.
When is my Coventry Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan effective?
That depends on the date you enroll. For both Coventry Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, your application must be approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). If you’re approved for your Medicare Advantage plan, you’ll receive a letter with your effective date, usually within a month. For Coventry Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans, you’ll get your plan ID about 7 to 10 days after your enrollment is processed and approved by CMS.
If you are covered by a Coventry Medicare plan and haven’t received your ID card yet, you can and print a temporary member ID if you need to use benefits before your card arrives (for example, you can use this temporary ID to fill a prescription). You can also access other tools to help you manage your benefits.
How do I pay my Coventry Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan premium?
You have several options when it comes to paying the plan premium for your Coventry Medicare plan. You can arrange to have your premiums deducted from your paycheck (after taxes).You can also pay by mail, over the phone, or by calling Coventry’s Customer Service. Another option is to arrange to have your premiums automatically deducted from a bank account each month. You can call Coventry at the contact information below to set this up.
Keep in mind that any premium you may have for your Coventry Medicare Advantage or Medicare Prescription Drug Plan is in addition to your Part B premium, which you’ll need to keep paying.
