Find Affordable Medicare Plans in Your Area

Do you have Medicare prescription drug coverage through a Medicare plan from Humana? You can get this coverage through a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan, or a stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan. Both types of plans are available from Humana, although not every plan may be available in your specific location.

What’s a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan formulary?

Each Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan and stand-alone Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan maintains a formulary, which is a list of approved prescription medications and the coverage guidelines for each. Medicare Prescription Drug Plans such as those offered by Humana may change their formularies at any time, but as a member of this kind of plan, you’ll receive notice before the changes go into effect.

Depending on the Medicare plan you choose from Humana or any Medicare-approved insurance company, you may have a copayment, coinsurance, and/or an annual deductible along with your prescription drug benefits. In addition, many of Humana’s Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans use a tiered formulary, where you pay less for generic medications on the lower tiers, and a higher copayment or coinsurance amount for more expensive medications. You may also be required to use pharmacies in the Humana network.

Keep in mind that not all plans may be available in all locations, and that plan benefits may vary depending on where you live. You must continue to pay your Part B premium with Medicare Advantage plans or Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans, and any additional premium for your Medicare health or prescription drug plans, which may vary by plan type and location.

How can I find out which prescription drugs Humana covers in my Medicare Prescription Drug Plan formulary?

Humana gives you several options for determining which prescription drugs your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plan will cover:

  • Use the online Humana Drug List Search tool to search by medication name or your health condition here.
  • You can select your plan name and browse a complete prescription drug formulary list for your plan here. The lists are organized by state and plan type, and you can view the formulary in either English or Spanish.
  • If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can download the Humana Pharmacy app, which lets you manage and refill your prescriptions, check order status, and learn more about your medications.
  • Some Humana MedicareAdvantage Prescription Drug plans and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans include reimbursement for certain over-the-counter medications. You can view a list of eligible medications, as well as those that are excluded from coverage.

If you have questions about your Medicare prescription drug formulary, you can call Humana Customer Care at 1-800-824-8242 Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (TTY users 711).
